As part of Merlin Entertainment's 8 million investment to revamp The Bournville Experience, we supplied both stepped and ramped access to the experience's new entrance.

Our systems support up to 1,000 kg, accommodating daily visitor traffic, prams, mobility scooters, shopping trolleys, and bikes.

Plus, if the entrance layout changes, the products can be reconfigured to fit the new design. This flexibility is a key advantage of choosing a modular system, providing Merlin Entertainments with long-term cost savings and reducing the product’s environmental impact. In contrast, single-use wooden or concrete alternatives often end up in landfills.  

Our in-house design team developed 3D models and 2D plans of the systems, providing the facility managers with virtual previews as of the solutions in situ.

Three fully compliant ramp systems and a connecting step unit were efficiently installed over a few weeks. The work was carried out early in the mornings, before guest opening hours, to minimise disruption.

The systems fully meet the requirements outlined in Part M and K of the Building Regulations.

• Rest Platform - Positioned every 5 meters for user breaks.
• 1100mm High Rail - Attaches to level sections for added safety.

EXTRA FEATURES INCLUDED

• Slip-Resistant GRP Platforms - Made from Glass Reinforced Plastic, ideal for high-traffic areas like schools due to its slip resistance and non-corrosive properties.
• Purple Solid Hoarding - Designed to prevent unauthorised access underneath the systems, commonly used in public building projects such as schools.
