Lorry Park, Kent
A WALKWAY TO OVERCOME PIPES AND CABLING
Public Building
Lorry Park, Kent
BACKGROUND & REQUIREMENT:
The park manages customs and document inspections for cross-channel lorries.
It became evident that the external cabling and pipework were preventing wheelchair users from safely accessing the welfare cabins and offices.
To overcome this, a temporary walkway was urgently needed to provide safe and accessible passage.
DESIGN PHASE:
INSTALLATION:
Our in-house team managed every stage - from design and manufacturing to installation.
The walkway was installed in under an hour and designed with a 1:12 gradient to achieve the required elevation, allowing it to seamlessly bridge over the existing pipes and cabling.
At the end of the hire period, the modular system will be efficiently dismantled and returned to our warehouse for storage and reuse on future projects - maximising resource efficiency and minimising waste.
In contrast, concrete and timber walkways are permanent installations, making them unsuitable for temporary applications.
Their removal often results in material waste, higher disposal costs, and a greater environmental impact.
FEATURES INCLUDED:
- Looped Trombone Ends - Prevents clothing from snagging at the edges.
- Slip-Resistant Mesh Platform - A multi-directional walkway featuring self-draining steel mesh with a galvanised finish.
- Standard Colour: Black - Powder-coated black for enhanced durability compared to traditional paint.
- Adjustable Telescopic Legs - Adaptable to various threshold heights.
- Standard Handrail - Designed to be grasped for stability and support.
