Building works were underway at the hospital, including installing a new mobile MRI unit and an emergency pathway to accommodate the added traffic. 

A walkway constructed from modular platforms. The walkway would enable staff to transport patients via hospital beds to the external MRI unit for vital scans.  

The chosen system needed a high loading capacity due to the heavy equipment that would be wheeled over its surface. 

CAD and technical drawings were designed in-house and based on-site measurements taken.

Modular platforms were bolted together to create a wide walkway, which begins from the St Peters Road Entrance.

The wide surface will provide turning space for wheelchairs and transportation beds.  Plus, the platforms have a loading capacity of 1,000kgs, to safely support high volumes of traffic. 

Another company installed a scaffolding canopy to ensure patients in beds are kept dry whilst being transferred for tests.

This was one of two projects that we completed at the hospital. We also installed an emergency exit ramp.

FEATURES INCLUDED:

•  Infill Handrail - this product prevents users from climbing or falling through gaps.
• Yellow Tread - this is a safety feature designed to help those with impaired vision identify the nose of the ramp. Additionally, it helps users distinguish any level changes.

• Mesh Platform - the self-draining mesh allows water to pass through rather than collect on the surface.
• Rest Platform – a rest platform at 5 metres is required to allow the user to pause.
• 1100mm High Rail – these handrails attach to any level sections.
• Continuous Handrail - this handrail system ensures users always have support to hold onto.
