Royal Mail Group Ltd
A STRONG PLATFORM SUITABLE FOR MAILROOM TROLLEYS
Public Building
Littlehampton, West Sussex
REQUIREMENT:
A temporary modular ramp with handrails and a strong walkway capable of supporting the weight of pedestrians and the mailroom trolleys.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
END RESULT:
Our system was ideal, having successfully been tested to have a safe loading capacity of 1,000kgs.
The standard version of the Rapid Ramp was hired for two weeks and only took one hour to fit. Plus, it was immediately functional after installation.
The ramp feet were fixed down into the concrete to provide extra support.
Once the rental duration was complete, the system was removed, returning the site to its original condition.
Unlike our steel Rapid Ramp System, a concrete ramp is unsuitable for temporary applications such as this. It requires time-consuming drying time, and concrete installations cannot proceed in bad weather conditions, e.g. snow or rain.
FEATURES INCLUDED:
- Trombone Ends - these are added to the ends to prevent clothes catching.
- Mesh Platform - the self-draining mesh allows water to pass through rather than collect on the surface.
- Standard Handrail - this handrail system ensures users always have support to hold onto.
- Telescopic Legs - these can be adjusted to accommodate threshold height.
- Standard Colour Black - ramps are powder-coated black to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.
EXTRA FEATURE INCLUDED:
- Yellow Tread - this is a safety feature designed to help those with impaired vision identify the nose of the ramp. Additionally, it helps users distinguish any level changes.
RAPID RAMP PLATFORM LOADING TEST:
We have successfully demonstrated how strong the Rapid Ramp is through a recent loading test using our widest metal platform (1,500mm) for public use.
Over 24 hours,1001 bricks were evenly laid over the surface. The platform and handrail successfully experienced no splitting or rippling throughout the test.
When installed correctly, the Rapid Ramp continues to have a safe loading capacity of 1,000kgs.
