Concrete: The ramp feet can be bolted directly to the surface or supported with concrete pad stones underneath.
Solid Rubber Surface or AstroTurf: The ramp feet can be bolted down if a tarmac base exists beneath the surface.
Paving Slabs: The ramp feet are securely bolted to the slabs.
Historic Flooring: Slip-resistant rubber tiles are placed underneath the ramp feet to protect the flooring, which eliminates the need for ground fixings. The legs can also be reinforced with cross-braces for added stability, and the ramp does not need to be fixed to the walls. We are also happy to consult with the appropriate conservation and planning authorities throughout the design and installation process.
Grass or Muddy Terrain: The ramp feet can be supported with concrete pad stones underneath, and the legs can also be reinforced with cross-braces for added stability. For permanent installations, a weed membrane is laid over the grass, with Pea Beach (miniature stones) evenly spread on top, concealing the ramp feet and pad stones.

Unlike concrete, our modular metal ramps can be installed in most weather conditions, including snow.
Newly poured concrete must be protected from freezing for the first 24 to 48 hours and requires drying time before use. Therefore, concrete installations are heavily reliant on good weather conditions and cannot be completed in snow or frozen temperatures.
>More Differences Between Concrete & Steel<<
Unlike wooden ramps, steel is a fire-resistant material that will not burn and melt at temperatures typically encountered in building fires.
Overtime the wood will rot and experience moss growth from wet weather exposure. Our steel wheelchair ramp is galvanised, a process where a protective coating of zinc is applied to prevent rusting and moss growth. Also, all components are powder-coated to create a durable finish that is tougher than conventional paint.
